"A Promise is a Promise" and "A Grave Mistake"

We here at the Crypt LOVE Memorial Day. After all, what other holiday do you celebrate with a trip to the cemetery?

This week, we bring you two terrifying tales with a military flair.

First up, from Ghostly Tales from the Haunted House, we bring you "A Promise is a Promise". Sadly, no-BODY will admit to having penned this little gem, but the art is all by "Wretched" Rocke Mastroserio.

I'm afraid that Ghost may be getting a little sentimental in is dotage. I like a little less loyalty and little more revenge in my tales of the tragic dead.

With that in mind I'm presenting a tale of betrayal, a unexpectedly elaborate escape plan and revenge.

From Charlton's Comics Beyond the Grave # 2 from 1975, I bring you "A Grave Mistake". Story by Joe "Grotesque" Gill and art by "Startling" Steve Ditko.

  4. "A Grave Mistake" is the best story yet. I love the last panel with the ghost soldier standing guard and the horror host looking back at the reader.
Thanks so much for doing what you do, Spectergirl!

    1. Thanks. If only we had time to do it more often.

    2. I'm "Anonymous" above. I wrote this comment before realizing you hadn't touched this blog since 2010!

I had been looking forward to reading an extensive archive. I understand the time suck that is blogging and appreciate the hard work that you've already done.

But I'd be lying if I said I'm terribly disappointed you've stopped updating!
